Vince Zampella, Dies in an LA Car Crash

The visionary game developer, the mind behind the globally famous first-person shooter Call of Duty, has passed away in a car accident in the state of California at the age of 55.

Zampella's death was announced by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the development studio he co-founded.

The celebrated game designer lost his life when his automobile collided and burst into flames on a highway in LA on Sunday, US media outlets report.

"We are facing a heartbreaking loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's family, his family, and the countless individuals inspired by his work," a representative from Electronic Arts commented.
