The three finalists have been celebrated for their remarkable achievements over the past 12 months. Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a record-breaking innings. Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his remarkable rise. The shortlisted athletes were announced live on a popular morning radio program. The 2025 recipient will be unveiled on the annual sports awards show on Thursday, 18 December. The ceremony will be televised from 7 PM GMT. The Football Star Age: 19 Sport: Football Only 90 days after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory. She came off the bench to score key tying goals in both the knockout stage games. Her incredible contributions led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament. Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the top young European talent. She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women. Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October. "Being nominated for this honour is an honour," said Agyemang. Luke Littler Age: 18 Sport: Darts The year started for Littler in sensational style as - while still 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history. He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final. His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles. He didn't stop there - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the first time. At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, breaking the previous record. "Being nominated for this award again is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a special memory for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts." Davina Perrin Age: 19 Sport: Cricket Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and surged to prominence with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August. Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s. It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition. Perrin ended up as runner-up in the run-scoring charts and was named the young player of the year by the PCA. "I'm incredibly grateful to be named a finalist for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it inspires more young women to get into cricket."
