Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Live coverage includes text commentary of Sunday's games on multiple platforms, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, audio coverage can be heard through designated networks covering another key matchup (from 21:00 BST).

We're in the sixth week of the football calendar and after last week's discussion about two top teams as a potential Super Bowl match-up, each lost their perfect starts.

Striking in those games were the amount of infractions both committed. Philadelphia did so in key moments meaning they essentially defeated themselves after leading by two touchdowns going into the fourth period versus the Denver Broncos, set to play overseas this Sunday.

But it was positive to observe how Denver quarterback Bo Nix managed to have that deficit before direct three successful possessions on three possessions in the fourth quarter, securing the game by four points.

The Broncos have the top defender in CB Pat Surtain II. They are number one in red zone defence, whereas Philadelphia lead the league in red zone offence, and Denver prevailed in that contest.

They had effective strategies regarding disguised blitzes. They weren't necessarily sending more than four defenders instead they could position two LBs in the interior before withdrawing them and dispatch a slot defender off the edge.

At the start of the season, we said during a show that Denver might emerge as this season's surprise contenders. They finished the previous year well then excelled of building upon that.

Could Denver be this season's dark horses?

New tight end their tight end has stepped up big while new RB JK Dobbins is a player they believe in. He's currently 5th in the NFL for rushing yards (over 400) as well as tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).

It's impressive how the coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUSH!" prominently of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates how the Broncos represent a team aiming to prioritize the run, since you can achieve much based on that approach. It reduces down the pass rush and maintains in positive situations.

It's also benefited QB the young passer, who came into the league as the 12th overall draft pick last year, passing for 29 touchdown passes – second only to a star QB for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert possess the arm strength to throw all over, however they don't move in the same way that Nix has. He has exceptional arm talent, which is different, plus he's so athletic.

His assets include his movement, the capacity to throw while moving, and using varied release points to deliver throws when he rolls out of the pocket, on rollouts. He is able to deliver precision throws over the middle and past defenders.

For a young quarterback, aged 25, he displays great composure under pressure and is not really fazed by the blitz. He aims to avoid being tackled whenever possible and is able pass in tight spots. He has a high football IQ and remains quick to decide.

When you constantly rush it eats up time and forces the opponent to be on the field for longer, and if you have an athletic quarterback the defence must cover the field vertically side to side. It can be draining.

The quarterback has bitten back at Payton during games at times and it seems Payton likes that fire, seeing him as a fierce rival. In my view it's fun for him to have a young quarterback who's similar to moldable clay. The coach can truly develop him how he wants to build it. I think it's a special experience for him.

The head coach has won a Super Bowl and has surpassed Bill Parcells for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He's seen everything. I think the achievements the Broncos are experiencing offensively is largely due to his guidance, his play-calling, his game sense – and the combination with the QB aids make him into who he is.

There's no better a better guy guiding you, to assist you during difficult moments and build self-belief.

I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet is the team strong enough to face an elite team at full strength? Because that was not a Super Bowl performance by the Eagles last Sunday.

Right now, it's unlikely the Broncos are elite. They're working above average, that's a solid position to hold their division. The key to do is maintain this trajectory.

They excel at leaning into their strength, which is running the ball, and that's exactly what they should do against the New York Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.

New York have surrendered 140 yards on the ground each contest (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (in the bottom ten), and they're the sole squad without a win any game.

Ever since the league began tracking takeaways in 1933, the Jets are the inaugural squad to go without a single takeaway through five games, which is surprising when you think that their new coach was previously defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.

Patrick Mahomes says the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' following Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.

After the upcoming matchup, the Broncos have a manageable slate until their bye (in week twelve) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans and the Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

Looking at their division, Kansas City are 2-3 and the Broncos are even with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could challenge for the top of the West.

It depends upon which form of the Chiefs they face since the Broncos {beat|def
