Former Physician Charged with Sexual Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Patients

Legal authorities have stated that a ex- doctor stands accused of carrying out assaults against thirty-eight victims who were patients.

Details of the Grave Charges

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous acts of sexual assault – comprising some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.

One deputy chief CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

Scope of the Police Inquiry

These allegations follow what police called a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.

Spencer will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

Prosecutors outline the 45 sexual offences he is charged with:

  • 15 counts of assault.
  • 17 counts of assault by penetration.
  • Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
  • 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
